Slidell Neighborhoods

Oak Harbor

Oak Harbor is a private gated community connected to

Eden Isles and located just south of Slidell. It is currently

made up of four sections connected by Oak Harbor Boulevard:

the Fairways, the Inlets, Mariner's Cove, and Masters Point;

a fifth area is currently being developed. The houses in Oak

Harbor are located either on the golf course or on water,

and many are on deep canals connected to Lake Pontchartrain.

Oak Harbor is perfect for commuters, with easy access to

Interstate 10 and only about a half-hour's drive to downtown

New Orleans. Much of the properties are upscale in the numerous

privately gated communities.

Oak Harbor also features a four star Golf Course, as rated by

Golf Digest, that is open to its residents. The professionally

designed, and challenging, course contains eighteen holes and

spans over 6,261 yards. The course also features a concession

cart which makes frequent trips to relieve weary players.

Further, play is enhanced with the "ParView Caddy System"

which allows sportsmen to greater enhance their play experience

with advanced course information and convenience.

Oak Harbor is in the Abney Elementary, St. Tammany Jr. High,

and Salmen High school district.

French Branch Estates  

French Branch is in one of Slidell's most desirable school

districts and is near the Honey Island Wildlife Management

Area and the Pearl River.

Access to shopping, restaurants, medical facilities, and major

 highways is within easy driving distance.

French Branch is in the school district of Cypress Cove

Elementary (kindergarten and first grade), Honey Island

Elementary (second and third grades), Little Oak Middle

(fourth though sixth grades), Boyet Junior High (seventh and

eighth grades), and Northshore High.

Willow Wood

Willow Wood is in the Cross Gates section close to shopping,

 restaurants, recreation, medical facilities and schools. Homes

range from 5 to 20 years old.

Willow Wood is in a growing area of Slidell with low traffic.

The subdivision is a mixture of age groups and has an active

homeowner's association. A popular athletic club located nearby

features a pool, weight facilities, and tennis courts. The excellent

school district includes Cypress Cove Elementary (kindergarten

and first grade), Honey Island Elementary (second and third grade),

Little Oak Middle (fourth through sixth grades), Boyet Junior High

(seventh and eighth grades), and Northshore High School.

Stone Bridge Estates 

Stonebridge Estates is in a unique equilibrium between the

majestic wild life and lazy bayous that encompass Louisiana

and being located to a formidable city and benefiting from

its various assets. Beautifully kept lawns and gardens serve

as a coast to relaxing bayous and streams which are home to

an assortment of wild life. To the south, is I-10 as well as

Country Club Estates. Meanwhile, to the east I-59 is ready

to serve the residents with their transitory needs in and

around Slidell, and New Orleans.

Breckenridge

Brecken Ridge is located east off of Gause Blvd.on Pearl

Acres street outside of Slidell's city limits. Nearby

subdivisions include French Branch to the west and

Eden Isles to the extreme south west. Brecken Ridge is in

the school district of Cypress Cove Elementary

(kindergarten and first grade), Honey Island Elementary

(second and third grades), Little Oak Middle (fourth though

Clipper Estates

This neighborhood was recently developed within Eden Isles as

an extension of Moonraker Island in 1994. The neighborhood is

well kept with high land values, wide streets, access to a man made

lake, and close proximity to other surrounding areas such as Eden

Isles drive, Oak Harbor, and a Marina. Clipper Estates is apart of

the Abney Elementary, Slidell Junior High, and Salmen High School

district.

Belair

 

Belair is a newly constructed subdivision which lies in no real close

proximity of other developments with the exception of Camp Villere

and the adjacent Royal Golf Club. While the subdivision inherits a

very pricey masque from its similarly named Californian counterpart,

these top of the line homes are reasonably priced. In addition, Belair

has a member's house, swimming pool, tennis courts, and the nearby

Royal Golf Club which are available to residents.

Belair is located beyond the city limits within the Bayou Woods,

Carolyn Park, Slidell Junior High, and Slidell High school district.

Cross Gates

 

Cross Gates is a large, popular subdivision in a rapidly growing

area. This well-maintained neighborhood contains thousands of

houses surrounded by tall pine trees.

Cross Gates is located less than two miles from I-10 (exit 266),

near the intersection of Gause Boulevard East and Military Road.

It is outside Slidell city limits and in the school district of Cypress

Cove Elementary (kindergarten and first grade), Honey Island Elementary

 (second and third grades), Little Oak Middle (fourth though sixth grades),

 Boyet Junior High (seventh and eighth grades), and Northshore High.

Cross Gates is home to the Cross Gates Athletic Club, which includes a

swimming pool, tennis courts, and weight rooms. The neighborhood is also

 conveniently located close to a shopping center. It is surrounded by the

 subdivisions Turtle Creek, Lake Village, Willowood, and the Bluffs.

Cross Gates is divided into two sections. The older section is a

well-established neighborhood containing houses about 10 to 20 years

 old. New Cross Gates, or the second section, is still being developed

in some areas and so contains both existing homes and new constructions.

Lakeshore Estates

 

Lakeshore Estates promises to be an exclusive neighborhood with close

 proximity to the Eden Isles and Oak Harbor area. With artificial canals

 and plenty of land to claim, this is sure to be the next phenomenon in local

real estate property. Lakeshore Estates will enjoy extremely quick access

 to I-10, Oak Harbor Golf Course, and the presence of the Abney

Elementary, Slidell Junior High, and Salmen High school district.
